Three levels
- Light: tidies up the internal structure. Quality and selectable text are untouched, so try this first. Files that are already lean may barely shrink.
- Medium: rebuilds each page as a 150 dpi image, which shrinks photo-heavy scans a lot.
- Strong: the smallest result at 96 dpi and lower quality. Fine for on-screen reading.
Medium and Strong turn pages into images, so text can no longer be selected or searched. If the result ends up larger than the original, you will be told, and you can simply keep the original.
Your files never leave your device
Most online PDF sites upload your file to a server, process it there and send it back. Pagefold loads the PDF engine into your browser and does the work on your own device. Contracts, ID scans and school records stay with you, and there is no upload to wait for on a slow connection.
